Quality Inspector (m/f/d) – NDT (Aerospace Components)

THE POSITION

As a Quality Technician – Metrology & NDT (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring the dimensional accuracy and structural integrity of our aerospace components. In addition to performing measurements and inspection tasks, you will take ownership of building and further develop our internal Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capabilities. You will actively shape inspection processes, standards, and structures, and act as a technical interface between Quality and Production. This role combines hands-on inspection and metrology activities (CMM & NDT) with strategic responsibility for the development of our NDT function.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independent planning, organization, and execution of series and special measurements using tactile and optical measurement systems
  • Ensuring calibration compliance of all relevant measurement equipment
  • Responsibility for maintaining and continuously improving internal quality standards
  • Analysis, verification, and technical evaluation of measurement results in close collaboration with production and suppliers
  • Definition and optimization of measurement standards and inspection strategies
  • Acting as a direct technical interface to production to ensure stable and reliable processes
  • Training and further development of production staff in quality and measurement technology
  • Active involvement in the setup of an FPI system (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection)
  • Development, implementation, and documentation of internal FPI processes
  • Performing FPI inspections in accordance with applicable standards

YOUR PROFILE

  • Completed vocational training in a metalworking profession or further qualification as a state-certified technician in mechanical engineering
  • Several years of professional experience in operating and programming 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM) as well as form, position, and surface measurement systems
  • Strong knowledge of common metrology software; experience with Hexagon PC-DMIS or PolyWorks is highly desirable
  • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), particularly Eddy Current Testing (Level 2–3 certification preferred) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) at least Level 2 desirable
  • Confident handling of standards, technical specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities in an international work environment
  • Very good German and English language skills (minimum C1 level)
